Continuing Education bursaries are available to assist members with the self-paid costs incurred to participate in a continuing education event or program that is relevant to their nursing practice.
Notice re: COVID-19
The Trust is aware that attendance at continuing education events may be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic as events are cancelled and travel is restricted. We will closely monitor the impact on our continuing education competitions and will look at alternate options to allocate the funding.
Please note that if the number of applications received in the Spring competition is not sufficient to hold a review meeting, funding decisions may be deferred until the Fall competition. In this situation, applicants will not have to re-submit their application.

Bay St. George Chapter Scholarship (CE)
A bursary is available to members residing in the Bay St. George area who are participating in a continuing education program or event. The continuing education (CE) scholarship will only be awarded if there are no suitable applicants for the academic scholarship.

Florrie Penney Continuing Education Bursary
This bursary is awarded to a RN who exemplifies the professional nursing qualities of Mrs. Florrie Penney, RN. It is intended to assist RNs to attend a continuing education program/event that will enhance her/his nursing practice.

Health Educators Continuing Education Bursary
This bursary is available to support RNs in staff educator or clinical educator roles in a Regional Health Authority to participate in non-credit continuing education activities that support their educator role (e.g., conference, post-basic course, CNA Certification).

The NLGNA will award one bursary annually to assist RNs to pursue studies that will enhance clinical practice in gerontological nursing.
